Hello world!

Welcome, thanks for stopping by my site.  It’s new and I’m new to blogging, so I thought I’d introduce myself.

I’m Dan.  Otherwise known as Dan Chamberlain and writing professionally under Daniel C. Chamberlain.  No pseudonym for me!  If I write it, I stand behind it.

I’ve had numerous “Feature” articles published in Handguns Magazine and one Feature in Guns and Ammo’s “Surplus Firearms” edition.  More recently, I’ve had my first novel published by Solstice Publishing.  It’s entitled:  “The Long-Shooters.”

The novel is a blend of traditional western, historical fiction and a murder mystery all rolled into one well-crafted tale (If I do say so myself).  Actually, if one reads the reviews – 18 as of this writing, the readers feel that way as well.  To day, it ranks #7 on Amazon’s “Top Rated” for western eb00ks, though it is also available in trade paperback.

If you visit Amazon.com, you can read the first three chapters for free.  If that doesn’t hook you…well, I’ve tried.

A little about me:  I’ve been a chief of police, a retired federal agent, a director of security for a multi-national corporation, and more recently, a registered oncology nurse. Someday, I’ll decide what to do when I grow up.

I hope you like the watercolor used as my header.  It was painted by my sister, Jayne Donahue.  Unfortunately, Jayne was killed in a tragic accident as my novel was in final edit.  I know she was proud of her “little” brother’s accomplishments in life.  I was equally proud of her.   She will be missed.

Please stop by again.  Leave a comment.  Post your thoughts.

Until then, take care.

Dan Chamberlain

Welcome and thank you for joining us. Your blogs are a much needed addition to the blogosphere.

Your sister’s painting is beautiful. I’m so sorry for your loss.

  5. Thank you both for your visits and comments. Jayne was an exceptional talent who didn’t always agree with her baby brother’s choice of profession or predilection for the shooting sports. Still, she gifted me with many nice paintings over the years as well as being the best sister a man could ever want.

  6. Piper sent me. 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading regularly. So sorry about your sister, she was obviously a great talent. And blood is thicker than choices and viewpoints–or should be.
